There are many ways to make a family, including a movie studio casting you into one.
Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis appears to be over the moon to be a “movie grandmother” after her on-screen Freaky Friday daughter Lindsay Lohan gave birth this month. Reps confirmed the news to People Monday that Lohan and husband Bader Shammas recently welcomed a baby boy named Luai, which means “protector” or “shield” in Arabic.
The same day the world learned of the new addition, Curtis posted a throwback photo of herself and Lohan on Instagram.

“MAGIC MONDAY!” she exclaimed in the caption, gushing, “My movie daughter just made me a movie grandmother.” The two embrace in the photo, with an inset still of the two grabbed from the 2003 movie.
Lohan hasn’t yet shared a photo of the baby, or other details such as when he made his debut. The closest she’s come is showcasing her furnished nursery on Instagram on July 13.
Curtis and her husband, director Christopher Guest, have two (non-movie) daughters, 36-year-old Annie and 26-year-old Ruby. Curtis has also been movie-mom (and TV mom) to many more, including Jeremy Allen White (this year’s unforgettable “Fishes” episode of The Bear) and Zooey Deschanel in The New Girl, and all those live cultures in Activia yogurt, among others.
